"Thank you"

About: New Cross Hospital / Eye infirmary

On Monday 14/8/17 I realised I had a problem with my eye. I visited A&E and had the usual wait. When the triage nurse checked me they thought I had a detached retina. I was then referred to the Acute Eye Department. I did have to wait 3 and a half hours, but one I was checked by a doctor it was action stations and I was booked in for an emergency operation the next day. The care and attention I had on Mary Jones Ward was outstanding, so professional and caring. My Consultant made me feel at ease and during the operation I didn't feel a thing, even though I was awake. On returning to the ward I was really looked after. I am pleased to say I am on the mend. I am so very grateful to all.

I am concerned that the aftercare appointments are not run as professionally, to have to wait 3 hours after the appointment time is not really acceptable. In addition I feel the car park charges are too high.
