"Full hip replacement"

About: Pontefract General Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

My wife went in for a full left hip replacement, this was her first major proceedure and she was very frightened.

All the staff were very kind and understanding and they reassured her at all stages that things would go well. We were given all the information we needed and this helped enomously. After the operation they controlled what pain she had and she did not suffer.

The ward staff were so friendly and caring and within 36 hours she was walking around the unit on crutches and almost pain free, She came home on the fourth day and gets stronger every day just as they said she would.

Great result thank you so much!!!

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding both you and your experiences.

I am pleased to read that you felt the whole experience to be a positive one and I am glad to hear that staff were able to help you in such a positive way.

It is always encouraging to hear that there has been a positive impact from our services.

I have shared your kind words directly with the staff as it is very satisfying for them to hear how they have made such a difference.

Receiving feedback is really important to them.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experiences with us and I wish you and your wife all the best for the future.

Kind regards
