"My recent visits to this hospital"

About: Peterborough City Hospital / Accident and emergency

i have had a problem with my ear now for 5 weeks, i kept going back to my GP who eventually sent me into hospital. this was the first time i got sent in

I had to be brought in my ambulance as i had no one who could take me, i got sent into minor a and e and was quickly saw a nurse who took my obs, bloods and put a cannula in, Then Ent came and saw me and looked in my ear and said it was infected, so they were going to put me on antibiotics (probaly the 4th round of antibiotics already) and they were going to put one dose through IV, I mentioned to them about the headache that i had it was really starting to get unberable, they acted like they didnt care, and said well you've got painkillers and home just keep on top of it with them, eventhough i mentioned to them that they were not helping, i then started crying, and they got a nurse and the nurse was quite rude with me and said you need to find a way to get home, do you have any money with you and i said no and they said well you need to find a way and get home, so i had to drag my parents to the hospital and wake my little sister to up to come and get me

the second time i got brough it was through ambulance again and i got saw quite quickly by ENT, who said it was getting better and i was trying to explain to them i was not feeling good at all, but got sent home anyway.

the 3rd time i got brought in was again by ambulance and got sent to ACU, who said they couldn't keep me in and so i had to come in everyday and i mean its not easy for me to get there because the hospital is not exactly round the courner. so i went in the next day and the hooked my up with a antibiotic ball, that day i couldnt keep anything down but they just gave me some anti sickness but because i was waiting around quite a while i missed my last bus, and luckily the bus driver had to take me to where i live out of his own time, then the next day i got a taxi because i knew i wouldnt get my last bus so i paid for the that out my own pocket, then the next day i finally got hospital transport sorted and they took me.

That day i felt incredibly ill so they admitted me onto to ward A15, i can't fault the care from the nurses on A15, ENT came onto the ward everyday and on the friday they said when i start to feel better then i will be discharged, well another ENT came onto the ward on sunday and said the ear was no longer infected, but i was still feeling extremly ill but got discharged anyway even though i spoke to the nurse to say i seriously dont feel well but got sent home anyway,

On the Friday after being discharged i still felt ill and my ear and my head were killing me, so i got brought in again and this time i got admitted onto ward A2 the care i recived from nurses on this ward was first class, ENT kept seeing me and explaining what they were going to do. this tuesday i got discharged even though i was still being sick and bladder problems, i have been discharged too early but im not coming back unless i really need to

I am so sorry to hear about your experience and I am obviously concerned about the comments you have posted. We want to ensure all of our patients receive good quality care and I am disappointed that this is not what has happened in your case.

If you would like to discuss this in more detail please do contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01733 673405. Once again my apologies that not all of your encounters have been positive.

Regards
