What I liked
On both the occasions I have had procedures at the Princess Royal, once I finally got an appointment, the nursing staff were absolutely brillliant.
What could be improved
The administrative side is diabolical. I have had appointments cancelled but nobody has told me; been promised appointments that have never transpired; been told letters have been sent that I have never received (and that weren't actually posted); and had attempts made to change the location of appointments three hours before I am due at the hospital. It seems the only way is to get really tough and be totally insistent that the person who eventually picks up the phone - if you do indeed get through to someone - actually takes action. Sorting out any kind of appointment - follow-up or initial - takes so much time, and if you're working it often isn't possible to spend ages on the phone being bounced from one excuse to another.
Anything else?
Such a shame that when the nursing staff are so good the administrative side is such a shambles. Pull your finger out, please - it doesn't do anybody's health any good to be treated in such a shambolic fashion.
