I attended A&E on the evening of 3 September 2017. I was admitted with anaphylactic shock due to eating pistachios and almonds - not good when you have a nut allergy.
Upon arrival at reception i was immediately taken into Resus and had a team of 4 Drs / Nurses working on me. They were all very kind and reassuring, constantly advising me as to what they were doing. This was good for me as this was by far the worst allergy reaction i had had in 25 years.
I stayed in Resus for approximately 4 hours until a bed on a ward became available. A lot went on in the 4 hours I was in Resus (not involving me) and it made me really appreciate the hard work the staff have to do.
I was then given a clean and comfortable room of my own on Ward 3 - room 14. Even at this late hour a drink and snack was offered which was much appreciated.
Discharge process went smoothly and I went on my way.
I would very much like thank to the staff on Reception, in Resus and in Ward 3. Also a mention to my Porter who was very nice.
Thank you all for the hard work you do, day in day out.
