I was recently referred to the Breast Surgery ( One Stop Clinic ) by my GP under the Urgent Referral System. A week to the day of the visit to my GP, I was sat in the Clinic. I was, understandably, nervous about the outcome of the investigations about to take place and also whether I would be treated with respect and dignity.
Of the latter, one was immediately made to feel at ease. All the staff, from the Receptionist to the Doctor, were gentle, kind and courteous, whilst being very professional and thorough. There was no sense of being rushed through the appointment.
I was particularly impressed and pleased that the same Nurse who took my History, was there again, at the finish, for the conclusion of the investigations. The nurse gave me very useful advice about breast care. They also gave me time to talk, which can be such a rare commodity these days in the NHS.
I was very fortunate that no cancers were detected but had it been otherwise, I would have known that I was in the very best of hands and in the right place.
All that remains for me to say, is, Thank You, City, and the Breast Clinic, for your excellent and personal service; long may it be so.
