I just want to say a huge thank you to all the staff in A&E on Saturday morning and afternoon. Following a fall and a bumped head, I was brought in by a friend. We were dealt with promptly and with care by everyone we came into contact with. Everyone was friendly and reassuring while doing a professional job. Even though I came into ward 101 later on, I was given lunch and a sandwich was found for the friend who had accompanied me. We both had opportunity to witness the care of other patients in the ward and were impressed by the way elderly people with dementia were cared for with dignity and patience. If I ever have the misfortune to have cause to visit A&E I hope it lives up to the standard set at Derby.
