We arrived at the clinic at 7:50 on a Sunday morning (Bank Holiday weekend). The receptionist was smiley & friendly though the receptionist was clearly suffering from a cold. The receptionist was also struggling with a reluctant computer system but apologised repeatedly for its slowness. About 10 minutes after the receptionist had managed to record my details, l was seen by the pre-assessment team, another 15 or so mins later by the nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner listened to my input before suggesting they'd consult the GP on their arrival as the nurse practitioner wasn't quite certain whether l needed antibiotics. Just after 9am the nurse practitioner called me back in and gave me a prescription for penicillin as well as useful advice. Throughout the visit l felt l was treated with sympathy & respect, the staff were kind & gentle. I don't know what l would have done without their help ... the pain in my throat was so bad l had stopped eating, and l couldn't even bring myself to swallow water. Also it felt as if l had an object lodged in my throat which was quite scary. I am grateful to the doctor who decided antibiotics were the correct way to proceed. It saved the rest of our holiday and me from prolonged misery! Many thanks and best wishes to all staff.
