"How do I actually get my broken bone repaired?"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Trauma & Orthopaedics (Wards 1 & 5)

(as the patient),

I have a broken bone in my leg due to being knocked down. Sent to Hairmyres to get the problem corrected. I was placed on Trauma list, but have been told that more urgent cases may be moved ahead of me. This is perfectly understandable.

However, I have now been waiting 2 days, fasted for both, only to be told that I have to return for a third day, with no guarantee that I will been treated. This will be ongoing.

How do I actually get my broken bone repaired?

Dear BurnM

I am sorry to hear that you are waiting on your surgery, The trauma list is very unpredictable which can at time lead to a delay.

If you contact our patient affairs team at Hairmyres Hospital, on 01355 585325, and let them know your details I will be happy to look into what has happened and see if there is anything that can be done to avoid any further delays.

Regards

Gordon
