"respect and professionalism."

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

I had to take my elderly father to A and E , my dad has stage 4 kidney failure and had developed a UTi which got worse over the weekend.

A and E was extremely busy with all types of patients some exhibiting some very challenging behaviour. I can't praise the staff enough for 8 hrs I listened to patient caring staff stretched to the limit dealing with patients with respect and professionalism.

Ultimately my dad had to be admitted he was lucky enough to get a bed on ward 124, again I would say that the care and professionalism of staff is a credit to the hospital.

Whilst it was a difficult few days he is home now, I want to say a big thank you to everyone in particular the nurses and doctors who cared for my dad in A and E and ward 124 please keep up the good work despite how it must feel sometimes your work is very much appreciated

I am very grateful to you for taking the time to feedback around yours and your dad's recent experience of A&E and Ward 124. Our staff work very hard to ensure all patients are provided with high quality care- sometimes under the most difficult and stressful circumstances, so comments such as yours are pleasing to receive. I will ensure I share your lovely words with both teams.

I do hope your Dad is continuing to recover well.

With best wishes

Rebecca Pilling, Quality Improvement Facilitator: Patient Experience.
