I approached the walk in clinic of this hospital and was initially guided by two helpful people in the right direction to the reception. Upon showing the receptionist my letter they pointed in a direction which was not clear. When I returned the staff at the reception desk told me to go into room 8. When I asked whether I should go into the room they said yes. I followed the receptionist's instructions and ended up walking into a patient being treated! Embarrassing and unfair on that patient and myself. I went back to the reception area and another staff member made me feel stupid for approaching again. The receptionist then said you can't just walk into the room in which I replied 'no but that's what your colleague told me'. I had to ask yet again for clarity on where I needed to go and where I needed to wait.
Working in the healthcare profession myself I do not appreciate being treated with no respect and not being clearly led in the right direction. The receptionist staff are not approachachle, unhelpful and unfriendly which lets down this hospital.
"Poor receptionist staff - being unclear"
