I was admitted at the Maternity Unit Turpin Suite for over 3 weeks because I have complications, and it was the most disappointing stay ever! The noise level was from 0 to 100, there were constant noise from staff been loud, patient visitors etc. Normal people were place with woman ready to give birth! The constant noise of clinical equipment, fire alarm staff banging patient screaming their heads off baby crying was just too much to accumulate. There was too much visitors at the same time been loud and rude, partners not showing respect for patients, because they were chatting and shuffling the whole night, mothers and baby was place with you because there was no where else to put them, the whole experience was a nightmare.
There was no privacy or dignity, random people visiting often came to the wrong cubicle! Staff not asking for patients consent before barging in on u getting dress!
I work in an hospital and patient privacy and dignity is our number 1 priority, but I'm sad to say this is not the case for Homerton. Staff need regular training and updated on dignity, privacy and respect.
The toilets was filthy most times with blood on the floor and no hand towel, food not much choice just average, everything was just a nightmare and I literally wanted to discharge myself because I had enough.
Won't be coming back here ever after I have this baby!
Worst hospital experience and stay!!!
"Worst Maternity Unit!"
