"Excellent care"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I was very anxious about my sons EEG appointment as he is only 3 and is autistic and keeping him still is very difficult I rang up to explain before the appointment the receptionist where lovely and friendly and assured me everything would be ok

On the day of the appointment my son had been unsettled so was very anxious how this appointment would go but the member of staff was lovely and helpful with us, they were very friendly which helped my son a lot and was very patient with him and got lots of toys out for him and a DVD to watch to make him feel even more at ease.

They need more staff like this.

Thanks for taking the time to comment Amy. It can be distressing for any parent to have to bring their child into hospital for treatment. It's always really helpful to discuss any concerns with the team beforehand. It helps them to be prepared and to find out more about your son and what toys and activities can be arranged to make him feel more at ease. Glad to hear it all went well.
