My brother, who has severe autism, is currently in Larbert although social workers have now found him a bungalow in Stirling. because of the severity of his autism my brother does not speak.
He was assigned a carer who told me they would work with my brother's nurses to get to know his routine. The carer came to two reviews with my brother and told me they had placed an advert for carers for him.
At one review I asked if my brother could come and see me perform with my choir, we agreed it would be best if he was able to come to the final rehearsal as this would not be too late. We arranged for the carer and one of my brother's nurses to be with him. The carer failed to turn up, this was very disappointing for both my brother and me.
I phoned Enable to find out what had happened and in the course of my conversation it came out that an advert for carers had not been placed nor had they arranged for the potential Stirling property to be decorated as I was informed it would be.
My brother is a vulnerable person, he cannot speak and is therefore unable to express how he feels but this is no excuse for the type of behaviour shown towards my vulnerable brother and me.
I have lodged a complaint but Enable say they cannot tell me outcome of the complaint.
