About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Ear, Nose & Throat

Was referred for tests in February for oesophageal manometry or so I thought after months of not hearing anything.

 I assumed I mis heard the consultant and that it was maybe a next step.

Cut to mid august and I get a letter from my consultant asking if I have had these tests done no I haven't I contacted my consultant who confirmed I was referred in febuary and iv been waiting this long apparently the waiting list is over 6 months and is only a part time service? Really?

I feel I no longer need these tests as I am controlled on my medication but for crying out loud i'm. sure that this is breaking waiting times 

I had brought this up before on this site but it never appeared I honestly feel that this needs brought to everyone attention

Dear JD23,

I was really sorry to hear that you have had to wait so long to undergo this investigation. Due to unforeseen and unavoidable staffing issues we have recently had to reduce this service from 5 days to 2 days per week which has caused waiting time to increase.

As of mid-September we will be in a position to operate this service on a full-time basis once again which will allow patients to be seen in a timelier manner.

Please accept my apologies for the unacceptable length of time you have had to wait.
