"My 15yr old daughter broke both bones in..."

About: Furness General Hospital

What I liked

My 15yr old daughter broke both bones in her leg on the last day of our holiday in Eskdale. We were air lifted to Furness General Hospital. From the moment we arrived there we were treated exceptionally well from the A&E Department to the X-Ray Department to the childrens ward. All the Staff in the Children's Ward were absolutely fantastic. They desperatley tried to get us transferred back to our local hospital in Poole, Dorset. Unfortuntely, due to the length of time in waiting for this to be done we had to make our own way back. This was in no way the fault of the medical staff. I would highly recommend this hospital to everyone.

What could be improved

The ability to be transferred at a reasonable time.

Thank you for your kind comments. We have passed your message onto the teams involved.

We hope that your daughter is recovering well and the journey back to Dorset was comfortable.

We encourage patients and visitors to give us their feedback. This will enable us to continually to improve the services we offer and the experience our patients have whilst in our hospitals.
