Outstanding Patient Care and Surgical Operation Outcome

I would like to sincerely thank every single member of the team in Ward D along with the surgeon who carried out my double discectomy operation, anaesthetist and team too.

From the moment I entered the Nuffield Orthopedic Hospital until the time I left, the standards of care and the attitude / and helpfulness of the entire team must be highly commended.

Not only did every single member of the team always seem dedicated to providing an understanding of my situation, but always were able to answer any questions I may have had. All medication was provided in a timely manner. Every member of the team was clearly motivated and always had a smile on their face, which to me, made me feel welcome and less concerned about my forthcoming spinal surgery.

I wish I could have named some nursing staff and my consultant who carried out my successful surgery, but there is a message on here that prevents me from doing so, which is a shame as I would have loved to have personally congratulated further, as indeed I did on leaving the hospital at the time of my discharge.

The camaradarie that we built up within ward D, with all patients within the ward including myself, whereby we supported one another, shared light hearted moments and generally looked out for one another was amazing too!

So the standard of care was 100%

The food that was provided was excellent and exceeded the quality that I had expected.

The frequent tea/coffee services and attitude/support of those personnel was first class too.

The hospital transport that was provided and the attitude/support of the drivers/support person was also excellent and 100%.

Overall, there is no doubt in my mind that all of the above personnel, surgeon, nursing staff, care assistants and also highly praised and I would particularly like to thank, was a younger member of staff who is part way through her training, who always had a smile on their face, was extremely knowledgeable, supportive and friendly throughout and I have absolutely no doubt that this person has a bright future ahead.

Thank you all so much, you all contributed to providing a tremendous level of support, particularly when, at time, we could all see that you were under pressure due to the turnover of patients in each ward, but everything seemed to go like clockwork, the organisation there was a joy to behold.

So once again, my heartfelt thanks to everyone concerned not only from myself - Robert (Bob) Clark, but from the other patients in Ward D during the period 23rd August to 25th August.

Keep up the great work, you are all stars and fantastic ambassadors of the NHS.
