I was unfortunate to have a very big operation for cancer at the end of last year. (Has taken me this long to get round to expressing my thanks!) Nearly every member of staff I came into contact with apart from a few notable exceptions, were kind, caring and compassionate. From out-patients, ultrasound department, gynae, ITU and oncology and two wonderful consultants, everything was explained with patience and understanding. However, it's very rare that theatre teams get praised. I was absolutely terrified before my op having just recently been diagnosed with cancer and not really knowing what to expect but I just wanted to sing the praises of the anaesthetist and the theatre sister that looked after me. They were so reassuring and competent. Also, must not forget you lovely MacMillan nurses - you are all superstars!!!!
"Big thumbs up to the anaesthetics team........."
