Unsettling the ward

Over the last 2-3 months there have been alot of new staff start on brecon witch we thought was a good thing, but they introduced themselves are are N/N and A/N and expect us to build a therapeutic relationship with them and be able to put are trust in them witch is a good thing. But the down side to this was everyone of them has left the hospital and it's not good for this to happen especially on an ICU ward. I think it is really unsettling the ward. I'd rather have them just say to us were only on here for a bit instead of us putting all are effort into something that's not gonna work out.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding the care you recieve on the Peaks unit here at Rampton Hospital.

As discussed in the recent Peaks Recovery and Involvement meeting, we are working hard to recruit staff nurses and nursing assistants in order to maintain safe staffing levels across the whole Hospital. We are therefore having a large number of new starters on the unit each month. Whilst this can be unsettling for the wards at times, we do have a robust induction in place which patients are now part of in an effort to enhance positive relationships and enable staff to have a greater understanding of the patient experience.

Whilst we endeaour to retain staff we also have to understand that some staff will want to challenge themselves in different environment and persue alternative career opportunities.

We will continue to support you and all the other staff and patients.
