My mum had a heart attack ten days ago. Thanks to the incredible care and skill of the nurses and doctors in the Critical Care Unit, Coronary Care Unit and Cardiac Investigation Unit, she is now at home, where she's supposed to be and on the road to a full recovery.
I can't sufficiently express my gratitude for the wonderful care she received; all of the staff treated her with patience, kindness and understanding; the wards she was on were always flawlessly clean and well operated and I saw absolutely nothing during my many hours spent at her bedside that made me doubt that she was in the best possible place. She was even pleasantly surprised by the food, which was always served fresh and hot and seemed to be locally-sourced wherever possible - special mention for the Callenick Farm ice cream, of which she ate about two tons while she was recovering!
The hospital itself is a vast complex of buildings which can be very hard to navigate; but everything is well sign-posted and there are loads of very helpful and understanding staff to help you find your way to where you're needed.
Thank you, Treliske! At a time when everybody seems to be griping about the NHS and saying that standards are slipping you have saved my mother's life and sent her home to me relatively unscathed.
