"Didn't read results correctly"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Oncology unit

(as a relative),

My parents attended the clinic for my mums routine check up as she is on the table from chemo and they were told by doctor that everything was ok and they will keep the tablets going and also that my mum has put weight on and that is a good sign.

So they went to the pharmacy to wait on the prescription to be then told by the pharmacist that the Dr hadn't read the results correctly and there is now a problem with my mums liver and that the dosage will have to be reduced, they then asked to speak to the doctor to be told that they had left the clinic! Utter disgrace that this has happened and I am going to take this further as this is peoples lives you are dealing with and especially cancer patients!

Dear LJMonty

I am really sorry to hear about your parents experience when they attended the Oncology Clinic, it must have been very upsetting for them both,I can't begin to imagine how difficult and distressing this must be for you all.

I would really appreciate an opportunity to investigate the concerns that you have raised further, can I please ask you to contact me, Pauline Marland,, on 01324 566523 or alternatively you can email me on p.marland@nhs.net

Dear LJMonty

I was wondering if you had phoned me yesterday following my response. I have picked up a message on my voice mail, unfortunately the message was cut off part way through the message and I wasn't able to get a contact number. Would you mind giving me a call back?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kindest regards
