"Maybe, just maybe, if they told the patient…."

About: Wycombe Hospital / Cardiology

I have a history of heart problems, referred to this hospital by GP. Lovely friendly nurses do reception including ECG etc, then put into cubicle to be seen by doctor. Quick (very quick) consultation with doctor, left alone on monitor in cubicle for rest of day and evening with occasional visit from nurse. In the evening, after three and a half hours of seeing no-one at all found junior doctor peering through corner of curtain. They’d obviously forgotten me! I had no idea that they planned on admitting me or what they had planned for me. Simply not good enough. Almost total lack of communication and consultation.

Thank you for your feedback and your kind words regarding the reception and nursing staff at Wycombe Hospital, in the cardiology department.

I am so sorry to read of the poor communication you experienced during your time in the department and your disappointment regarding the consultation.

I can understand how frustrating this must have been for you and we are concerned to learn that this was your experience of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust’s services. We hope that you may be happy to speak with us in some more detail about your experience, so that we can understand what happened more clearly; explore ways in which we can assist and improve our patient experience in the Trust.

If you are happy to share more detail about your specific experience with us, please contact our dedicated Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01296 316042 or email pals@buckshealthcare.nhs.uk

In the interim, I will pass your anonymous feedback on to the Service Manager and divisional lead for immediate attention and action.

Kind regards

PALS Team (Patient Advice & Liaison Service)
