"I was admitted as a day surgery and all..."

About: Princess Anne Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted as a day surgery and all the nurses that took care of me where absolutely great, especially the lady that took me through to the operating theatre she was the best and as we spoke she told me that she HAS to retire I think the people at the top should look at this nurse and see what she can do for the younger nurses comeing into the field of nurseing, I think it is a real shame just because of her age not what she puts into the job she has to retire, she looked after me so well while the younger students where talking amongst them selves. This is the first time I have ever commented about anything that is why I feel so strong about this matter please tell all the top bosses to go back down to the grass roots for a while and see what everybody else see all the time.

What could be improved

Not a lot may be a like of paint.

Anything else?

Please please managment go back down stairs for a few hours you would be amazed at what you see.

It’s great to hear you had such a good experience – thank you for your comment, which we have passed on to the surgery team.

Because we’re a teaching hospital, our student doctors and nurses have the opportunity to learn from our more experienced staff, such as the nurse you met.

The current policy on retirement in the Trust follows the law and employees retire at the age of 65. However, employees can request an extension of their retirement date, and we consider and respond to each request individually.
