"I feel I have been labelled a waste of time"

About: St Helens Hope And Recovery / Taylor Ward Whiston Hospital

(as the patient),

3 or 4 months ago I was admitted to a psychiatric ward for 4 days.(taylor ward, st helens) because I'd threatened to kill myself by using 2 methods both at the same time. on the fourth day I was discharged. the psychiatrist said I had multiple personality disorder. I think this came about because I was doing impersonations of tv & radio personalities while on the ward.

2 weeks ago I had a couple of what appeared to be serious episodes while i was out shopping. both episodes resulted in me being taken to whiston hospital where on both occasions I felt was treated as a joke by doctors & nurses.

From my experience it feels as if people with personality disorder are to be treated as time wasters.

Thank you for taking the time to make this posting.

I am very sorry to hear how you have been treated at Whiston Hospital I have forwarded your posting to them.

When you were discharged from Taylor ward you should have been told how to access services again should you need to. If you have a Care Co-ordinator (a CPN, social worker or other member of a community team) you should speak to them about how you feel. If you are not being seen by a member of a community team and feel you need help or support please talk to your GP and they can refer you into our service if neccessary.

If you wish to discuss anything please do not hesitate to call me on 01925 664450
