"Waiting times"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Bones, joint and fractures

(as a relative),

Feeling disillusioned! My partner has been waiting for an orthopaedic appointment since November 2016! They had a fall down some stairs and have been left in significant pain with no obvious improvement. Their pain relief via their GP has been increased but this impacts their ability to carry on with normal daily activities and so to avoid time off work they are unable to take the full prescription. They have been back to his GP who advised they would contact the hospital again. They haven't even received the letter advising that the referral has been received.

Dear Safety

Thanks for taking the time to post on Care Opinion.

Please accept my apologies for the lack of communication regarding your partner’s orthopaedic appointment. I understand how frustrating this must be for your partner and the impact this has on their life.

So that we can look into this further, with your partner's permission and in keeping with patient confidentiality, can you please email me at Nicole.McInally@ggc.scot.nhs.uk with your partner's name, date of birth, CHI number (not essential) and quoting the reference: 392010?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards

Nicole
