(as the patient),

I had elective spinal surgery by Mr Jensen at Wansbeck. I live in Newcastle but chose WGH as I was well looked after there 3 years ago when having a hip operation.

The care in ward 15, theatre and the orthopaedic wards was brilliant. I spent the first night in the high dependency surgical enhanced recovery unit and was closely monitored.

The fact that the emergency work is now done at Cramlington meant that the staff could prepare, support and recover people undergoing elective surgery without distraction.

I would unreservedly recommend "the Wansbeck"for planned care. It's well worth the extra travel.
