Ambulance staff were super, but maybe they need a better GPS as we did get lost on the way from Fowey to Trelisk!
Triage into A&E was done efficiently, but what happened to all the electronic information about me that had been typed in en-route and handed to the receptionist??
I was in agony and faced with some person (not even sure if they were a nurse) who seemed to think all I needed was a chat!
"How was I feeling?"... when I could barely talk for the pain, since the morphine I was given in the ambulance was now wearing off.
"How much morphine had I had already?" I was asked - I couldn't believe it, what an idiotic question...!
"what would I like, some more?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing
Isn't that your job to know and determine I asked. Well isn't it?
"I'll give you some (don't remember the name) it will make you smile and sleep like a baby.." I was told offered. I didn't care anymore. OK, I'll have it I said. It didn't help!
I then go for an x ray, have a brief but thankfully intelligent discussion with a doctor and was admitted.
The next day after a CT they could not find anything amiss. The next day day I felt able to make the 5hr journey back home, even though I still had not opened my bowels...I was discharged in s few painkillers.
The next day I was admitted as an emergency to my local hospital.
Another CT showed an acute intestinal blockage... did Trelisk miss something?
