"After care really bad"

About: Salford Royal

Was admitted to stu as no beds available on baritrics and I had an emergency operation on 21st June 2017. Discharge notes stated follow up appointment in 6 weeks. No appointment came so on week 6 I rang appointments only to be told I wasn't on the system. Was given a phone number for the surgeons secretary which i rang, got an answerphone so left a message to ring be back which didn't happen. I then phoned my gp and over the next 3 weeks they have had the same response as myself, leaving messages which get ignored. I am now on week 9 post op and still no appointment . This is unacceptable. How am I supposed to get anywhere when nobody answers the phone

Dear Susan

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding the care following your operation. We are so sorry to hear about your experience with trying to get hold of our team by telephone to confirm your follow-up appointment. We are disappointed as your experience does not reflect our Trust values, where we pride ourselves on our professionalism and communication skills.

To allow us to investigate this further, can I ask that you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), on 0161 206 2003 or email them directly on pals@srft.nhs.uk with further details of the number you have been trying to call, so we can give you some answers and confirm when your appoint is with our team, if you have not received confirmation already.

Kind regards.
