"Outpatient Appointment"

About: University Hospital Monklands

(as a service user),

I had an appointment at 11. 00am, I arrived at 10. 20am and was told that the doctor was running late and the waiting time would be 45 minutes, no reason given. I did not wait as I would not expect to be seen if I arrived 45 minutes late for my appointment.

To attend this appointment I had to cancel appointments.

Why would they presume that patients would wait, we also have commitments.

Dear wc20

Many thanks for your posting on Care Opinion.

I am sorry that you were unable to stay for your appointment and have not had a positive experience in Outpatients. In order to fully investigate the reason for the delay, I would really appreciate you getting in touch with our Patient Affairs Department on 01236 712140 detailing the date and clinic you were attending to allow me to fully investigate the reason.

As the Senior Nurse for Outpatients we strive to deliver a person centred service and I am keen to understand what has happened on this occasion.

Thank you once again for getting in touch with us.

Kind regards

Eileen
