"6 month contact"

Had to make do with associate worker as only contact. Less knowledge than I have. Shortsighted in their assessment, reviewed my husband as he was in the time they were here. Gp and I couldn't recognise my husband from the report wholly inadequate and superficial. Suggested he go to clinic without me by taxi and it didn't matter if he wore clothes inside out. Husband regularly absconds and has been previously sectioned not appropriate he be on his own. Personal remarks put in review letter regarding my views which they had solicited initially. Appears to have own agenda. Unhappy they have access to husbands prescription when not qualified, smug that they had script and didn't need to ask us about meds. Poor show.

On another matter poor telephone message system. Letter written regarding this 20 July 2017 requested reply still no contact 17 August 2017 letter addressed to Departmental Head.

Why is there no OlderAdults Mental Health Crisis Team?

Having said all this the Psychiatrists, any CPNS I have spoken to by telephone (when I eventually get through) have been excellent and I feel I have have had exemplary service from the OT. So good when it works.

Please don't dismiss as an old lady's rambling. I wish to remain anonymous

I do not want my husband to be involved in this issue.

Firstly can I thank you for taking the time to post these comments.

I would like to apologise for your experience any distress this may has caused you; that certainly is not the desired outcome we aspire for in our service delivery. Unfortunately the specifics of the case cannot be looked out due to the respect for the stated wish for anoymimity. However, our associate workers, whilst not professional qualified in the same sense of a doctor or nurse, are trained to a level required to provide support and review of medications and, if indicated, review their findings with the qualified CPNs and the Doctors each week. If there has been a particular issue with a member of staff it would really help us to know about this to allow us to review, support and address it so as to improve service delivery and experience moving forwards. In terms of waiting times, the time periods stated are not in-line with our service expectations and as such these are currently being reviewed across the entire service as to how to better communicate and respond to individual need in the face of growing demand. Again, we would be happy to discuss this in more detail with you if you wish. Unfortunately there is currently no crisis team provision Commissioned for older adults, which we appreciate is important, and continue to raise and highlight as a major service gap for older adults with our commissioners. Thank you for your positive comments about our other team members, these are appreciated. I will ensure that the team manager is aware of all of your concerns and we will work as a service to review and address these. I again apologise for your experience and as stated would be happy to communicate with you directly and assure you that such would be treated with the greatest confidence and would not in any way negatively affect or involve your husband.
