"Hemotology department"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Clinical haematology

After having several blood test each coming back as abnorma,l I was refered to the hemotology department where I saw the most nicest and caring consultant ever. unfortunatly I was given devesting news that I had leukaemia (CML) as you can imagine this was a frightening time,I could hear what the doctor was saying but nothing was making sense as I was only 36 how could this be happening to me,I was.immediately put on treatment.the dr and the staff were amazing and I soon understood a little more about the illness and the treatments available my questions were always answered to my level of understanding and not all the medical words which i probably couldnt even pronounce that was 2007 ten yrs later in march 2017 I was told im now in remmision ive attended this clinic every 12 weeks for the last 10yrs ive had new consultants over this time and each one has given me 100% of their time.just recently I had another cancer scare and once again I was given the best and fastest care and im relived to say I have nothing to worry about I will carry on attending the hemotology department for the foreseeable furture and I know im in safe hands.I would like to thank the hemotology deparments drs and staff for looking after me you have made the last 10yrs a lot less frightening.
