I was referred to Occupational Therapy via my Neurologist because I struggled with managing my energy levels. The occupational therapist I saw was both professional and knowledgeable. My natural instinct of pushing through and ignoring symptoms wasn't winning but unfortunately I didn't have a strategy. The adjustments I have made since the sessions with them, while pretty frustrating to do at the time because I find accepting my situation very hard, have made my life a lot more bearable. I have had to accept that there is no cure at the moment but my quality of life is better and that is a positive. I now have some knowledge of how to try and manage my situation and I can be "pretty certain" of how I will be tomorrow because I monitor how much I do and my symptoms. I'm more mobile again because of the advice and so I'm in a much better place to continue to research and look at other avenues to get my body back on track and one day hopefully back in the gym.
Many thanks!
