"Amazing staff at Whiston maternity hospital!"

9pm 13.08.17 My daughter went to the maternity unit at Whiston at the start of her labour (accompanied by myself & her husband) The care staff who greeted us were professional & caring. The midwife who began her care was knowledgeable, respectful & assured, helping my daughter to feel she was in safe hands. The midwife who took over her care & facilitated the water birth was fabulous! When we moved to the pool room delivery suite, the staff had prepared it with led candles & low lighting to create a beautifully calm atmosphere & the room & pool were pristine. We cannot thank the midwife enough for their calm Encouragement & nurturing care, within their safe & professional demeanour.

They really listened to our needs & helped my daughter to manage the difficulties of labour (without pain relief) in a safe & supportive environment. They took time, care & attention to ensure the safe delivery of my daughter's & son-in-law's baby girl at 3.17am. The 2nd midwife who attended to support the birth was equally professional, supportive & encouraging. The day shift midwife who attended my daughter, was supportive, friendly, informative & assured.

Every member of staff greeted us with their name, a smile & welcome. Thank you seems such a small statement for what the staff at Whiston delivery suite provided.

Their collective professionalism, kindness, humour, respectfulness, knowledge & all round care was a blessing to receive. You are such a credit to your profession & to the women of Merseyside! Well done & our gratitude to you is immeasurable!
