About: Freeman Hospital

What I liked

Thanks to Ward 29 for teaching me how to deliver IV antibiotics using the aseptic/non-touch technique. The teaching was excellent. She went through, step by step, all the stages while explaining the reasons behind the specific techniques that needed to be followed. She, along with your other staff that helped teach me, allowed me to take more and more responsibility for the preparation and delivery of the antibiotics. Teaching me to give myself the antibiotics allowed me to go home up to two weeks earlier than would have been the case.

We would like to say thank you very much for the positive comments left on the NHS choices website. The staff have put a lot of hard work in to developing the service so that patients can manage their own care independently at home, and we are very pleased to hear that patients are finding the service beneficial.

Thank you very much for taking the time to pass on these comments – the staff were very pleased to read them.
