"Healthcare delivery"

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter (13yrs) was admitted to Wrd 19 and then 20 at Wishaw General. She received first class care, reviewed by 3 specialties and the nursing staff made sure it was coordinated and sorted slight communication breakdowns between the specialties. The staff achieved the correct balance between professionalism and friendly and approachable. My daughter was happy to get home but more importantly would have no concerns about going back if she was to take unwell. Person centred care was clearly evident and all questions went through my daughter first and then my opinion was asked - really proud to be part of NHS Lanarkshire.

Dear Anxious Father,

Thank you, for taking the time to feedback on your experience of the Paediatric inpatient unit at Wishaw General. As you comment, when consulting across a number of specialities the complexity can bring communication issues. It is good to see that the staff involved were tuned into this and overcame any issues.

I am glad that your daughter has had a positive experience and outcome and that the service was helpful and met your needs. I will pass on your sentiments to the clinical team and wish you and your daughter all the best going forwards.

Regards

Jim
