I had the procedure done yesterday, to say I was frightened is an understatement. I arrived at the ward at 7. 15am and straight away I was put at my ease, but still remained frightened.
The surgeon came to see me and explained what he would be doing he was so reassuring told me I would be all smiles when it was all over with. The nurses were brilliant, the nurse that looked after me was especially good nothing was too much trouble for him I was always asking him questions and he answered everyone of them, he was a 3rd year male student nurse so friendly and polite. he wheeled me down to the lab, the staff in there were also brilliant they all kept reassuring me, the procedure was a little uncomfortable but nothing I couldn't handle and to hear the surgeon tell me after that it had been a success was worth everything.
I wouldn't want to have it again but if I had to it wouldn't scare me as much. The only regret I Have is that I didn't get the chance to thank the student nurse and wish him luck in his finals. I hope you manage to find out who he was and please thank him and all the staff. A very big thankyou
