"Great staff"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Manchester)

(as the patient),

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Pre-Op Assessment and Admissions Team at St Mary's Hospital, Manchester. Also Dr F Reid and Dr Cox and the nurses on Ward 62. All staff included me in all discussions before and after surgery. Dr Reid and Dr Cox came to the bedside after the surgery and explained the procedure and the findings. The Theatre staff were also great in particular the anaesthetic nurse and anaesthetist. Even though I have many procedures under GA previously they treated me like it was my first time and explained everything they did. I would have no problem going back there in future and would recommend them to friends and family if specialist surgery is required.

Thank you for your positive comments posted on the Patient Opinion website regarding your care within the Gynaecology Services at Saint Mary’s Hospital. It was very kind of you to take the time to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff. The Trust has introduced a Behavioural framework within which all members of the nursing and medical teams practice so it was reassuring to read that staff communicated in a manner that enabled you to approach this personal experience with confidence and that you felt you had been fully involved in all discussions throughout. I can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to Dr Reid, Mrs Pam Kilcoyne, Lead Nurse for Gynaecology, Mrs Sarah Devaney, Matron for Women’s Outpatients, Mrs Angela Williams, Matron for Theatres, Mrs Sonia Hadley, Ward manager and the staff involved.

Mrs Karen Connolly

Divisional Director
