"All Staff Need to Read Medical Notes"

About: Lymington New Forest Hospital

Up until last week had full confidence in the Medical Department, we had previously visited.

This was a new Medical Department, we have now refused 2 different procedures as it is obvious that Staff from Surgeons, Nurses & Booking staff do not understand the sentence will not have invasive procedure or the meaning of the word .

Neither it seems from Surgeon down do they fully read or ask the patients Medical History when referred to them.

On no occassion was the 2nd procedure fully explained.

On receipt by mail when reading the notes concerning procedure & then further investigating my husband was in grave danger of the side effects of Gatrografin causing anaphylactic shock, not to be given with a Thyroid condition also.

The Buscopan not to be given with enlarged prostate neither to be given with Heart problems.

All of which he has!!

We therefore decided not to take the chance at his age & circumstances.

We shall be taking the matter further...

Such a shame that this one Department has marred our previous happy experiences of the Hospital.
