"My husbands has been seen as an out..."

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus

What I liked

My husbands has been seen as an out patient, day case patient and an in-patient on Fletcher Ward (for a stem cell transplant) at The Centre for Clinical Haematology over the past 4 months. We can't praise the staff, in all of the areas within the centre, enough for the care he has received. Each and every one we have met has been professional, caring, understanding and has treated him with dignity and respect. Appointment times are, in the main, kept to and any waits are short. The Centre is friendly and welcoming and staff make you feel confident about the care they are providing. They all very much deserve to be praised and appreciated. We hope they know what a real difference the caring atmosphere makes to patients and their carers as they really do seem to realise that treatment isn't just about prescribing.

What could be improved

Better facility is needed for emergency admissions for haematology patients when Fletcher and Toghill Ward are full... to be sent to Jenner Ward (where there were no beds either) is in no way acceptable and extremely distressing.

Anything else?

An extremely sincere thank you to each and every member of staff at The Centre for Clinical Haematology.
