I had a weeks stay in Whitley Ward, I have never seen doctors and nurses work so hard, even short staffed they made sure patients were all looked after and cared for. They were all amazing.
I went in with Cellulitis which turned into blood poisoning.
I couldn't have had better care plus the ward being on the ground floor was very comfortable and thank god for the televisions to watch (with headphones).
The only regret I have is that I should have taken the two doctors advice and stayed in longer and have more antibiotic IV but unfortunately I made the wrong choice and decided to come out early with oral antibiotics.
The doctors advised with my big Lymphodema legs that it would come back if I left too early, better to stay in until the infection had completely gone.
I should have listened to them, annoyed with myself as now in fear that it will come back.
If I do have to go back into hospital I don't expect I will be lucky enough to go back into Whitley Ward.
