"A&E & Urgent care receptionist"

About: Central Middlesex Hospital

The receptionists who answered the phone both in the Urgent Care Centre & A&E department are very rude and unhelpful.

They don't listen to what you are saying or asking and repeat themselves.

I had to call over 8 times before I managed to allocate a sick relative i dropped off.

No one knew whether they were seen in the Urgent Care and then transferred to A&E or discharged home. Receptionist in Urgent Care said regardless if patient gone home or in A&E it just says discharged on their system, and they don't know where the patient has gone.

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your feedback about the difficulties you had when calling the A&E and Urgent Care Centre to find out about the whereabouts of your relative.

I am very sorry that you had to call numerous times to find out information about your relative and that the staff you spoke to where unable to provide specific details about this.

I have passed this to the General Manager for our Emergency Department for comment as it would be helpful if more detailed information about your relative's location could be given. I hope to be able to provide you with a further response once I have received a response.

Kind regards

Peter Hare

Patient Liaison Manager
