I had already been a patient here previously and found my stay just as welcoming as can be when you are away from home. Staff continued to be excellent and caring apart from a support worker who quite frankly seemed to think they were a nurse, a little power happy and a bit of a bully suggested myself and a patient in a wheelchair get a bus when we had booked the car, this made the disabled lady highly upset. The consultant was excellent and honestly by starting me on new medication which others also persuaded me to take they saved my life ! The ward is always clean and the cleaners are lovely ! The ward is shared by males and females but I feel this makes the ward more comfortable and calm compared to same sex wards I've been on. The staff can't do enough for you. Food is excellent thanks to the onsite chefs and they also come round and ask for new ideas. The only part of my stay I wasn't happy with was myself and my family where never informed of the transfer that was happening to picu 3 hours away, I was told this when the transport had arrived after I had ordered a take away with others ( which staff allowed me to do). Anyway this continues to be the best ward I have ever been nursed on! Thank you thoburn !
