I am writing to express my sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of the staff who cared for my mother during her recent admission to your hospital.
Despite suffering serious complications during her stay, the bravery, skill and commitment of the staff was astonishing. Without exception, everyone who cared for my mother did so with an unwavering passion and heart-warming enthusiasm that must be so difficult to maintain in such an intense environment.
As a family, we lost count of the times we heard the phrase “I’m just doing my job”; for us, it felt like so much more. Long days spent caring for people with such diverse medical and personal needs, without respite, or complaint is a role many, including myself, would find very difficult to undertake.
Indeed, it is impossible to articulate just how incredible the staff are. Everyone we interacted with, from the porters to the consultants, were consistently friendly, professional and helpful; a combination that not only helped my mother recover, but helped us all deal with the difficult circumstances we faced at the time.
Whilst we appreciate the NHS is under a great deal of pressure, not once was this evident during the time my mother was with there. Both the system and your hospital are a salutary reminder of what a privilege it is to have access to such an outstanding service; long may it continue.
