"Waiting times"

About: Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital

Having first sought help about pain my wife was having in December 2015, my wife attended gyno in May 2016. Following 2 key hole surgeries in 2017, one to remove a cyst and the other 10 weeks later to remove an ovary, she still suffers abdominal pain. She was then referred to gastro and after 20 odd weeks saw the specialist who gave her pain killers and she was told to report back in 3 months time. Having checked today how the appointment was progressing, she was told there was an extra 10 week waiting time to add to the original report time. My wife broke down whilst on the phone and sobbed her heart out. She is in so much pain that has been going on for over 2 and a half years. When she has sought help from doctors, I find they are too scared to tread on the Specialist toes so prescribe more pain killers. They don't work. Fortunately, she has been offered an appointment in 10 days time but will it be changed? This hospital management do not heed the patients care, only about saving money. However, when they patients are in hospital, the nurses and staff do an excellent job.
