"Dr needs fibromyalgia training"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital / Rheumatology

The doctor I saw said I have fibromyalgia "type" symptoms/syndrome (my wife and I can't agree on the word they used). Read something that says fibromyalgia is the 3rd most common condition seen by rheumatologists in the UK so I think they should know more about it. The doctor seemed to think you need IBS to have fibromyalgia (when only about 60/70% of people actually have both). They also had problems with using tender points to diagnose it and only checked about 2 or 3 points when you should have at least 11 of 18 points for a diagnosis. However I've also read that this test shouldn't be used for a diagnosis any more because doctors find it difficult to do properly.
