"Ultrasound - polite, professional and efficient"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as a service user),

I had a pelvic ultrasound and have to say I was very pleased with the treatment I received - the sonographer and the nurse were both very friendly, explained the procedure to me and made me feel very comfortable (even with a full bladder! )

Although the formal results will come through in a few days, the sonographer put my mind at rest and advised me fully about what she could see, which was a relief.

The only negative thing (which is out of the hospital's control due to the sheer numbers of patients requiring treatment) is the long wait time from referral to the appointment (average 6 weeks). This is as I say no fault of the hospital, as demand outweighs the capacity to supply and is something for the wider NHS community to address, not just the responsibility of the hospital.

But I cannot fault the professionalism and kindness from either staff member and am very appreciative of the services provided. Thank you very much to Medway Maritime Hospital.
