I have been a patient for 10 years with the Walton Centre and I have had the best treatment I can possibly wish for from their Neurology department and thank goodness because it has helped me immensely. However over these years they has forgotten, messed up several appointments, sent me to see the wrong Neurologist and missed repeat medications/treatments due to simply clerical errors. Due to my condition I find myself often in pain and confused and I feel the staff handling appointments and the secretaries over the years have been rude, lied to me about procedures (or being kind are not aware of the procedure), delayed urgent medical treatment and upset me greatly. To the point I dread calling the hospital. I have spoken to PALS and Patient Experience (keeps changing its name) over the years and never get a follow up, feels like I am talking to a rude brick wall at times. Considering this unit deals with patients that are in severe pain the lack of bedside manner is shocking. It is a shame as it tarnishes an outstanding unit. I would advice if you can see your doctor as an outpatient at another hospital to look into that option.
"Excellent Doctors, rude and dismissive staff"
