"Six weeks to wait for an urgent scan"

After suffering a collapse at home with stroke like symptoms, my doctor has referred me to Raigmore for a brain scan as urgent. I was advised not to drive until this is done, on phoning Neurology Department to enquire when this is due I have been advised that despite being marked as urgent I will be waiting until at least 6 weeks and this will be into September. Living in a rural area and relying on driving for my job as a childminder I feel that the waiting time for the scan is far too excessive and will impact significantly on my family and work life. Also I have significant worries about this happening again before I receive the scan, again causing significant worry.
