My 16 year old taken to the emergency departmemt by ambulance with abdominal pain.
We were taken for 'pit stop' assesment straight off the ambulance without any delays and the staff came to see us whilst rhe paramedic explained the problems. The assesment was fast and staff listened to me. My stressed needle phobic teen was cannulated quickly and calmly by a HCSW ....thanks
The surgical doctor came down very quickly and arranged a scan which was done a few hours later. my teen was made comfortable for pain and sickness by a kind Nurse who kept a really close eye.on him.as he was given sepsis prevention treatment due to being very ill.
The diagnosis was made by a specialist later thay day, which was explained to us. Gastro Dr was very professional and came back the next morning to see how their patient was doing and with the treatmemt all ready.to.start. All the treatment and care was given by A8 nurses who were just so patient despite being very busy all the time. All staff on A8 treated us well even when we were grumpy and exhausted over 4 days.
A further indepth scan was provided before discharge and we were seen by a nurse specialist too. We went home knowing what to do and when to call for help. Im happy to be home but my family feel like we have had excellent support and the medical treatment is brilliant.
