"unacceprable waiting time"

About: Cumberland Centre

i was told by GP had fractured thumb,6/52 ago and there was no treatment for it i fell again 2/7 ago and re-injured it,i am recovering from a cerebral bleed. the appropriate. place to go was MIU.i am until last year an ex Practice nurse specialist RGN.I went along booked in and within 20 mins saw an HCA was triaged and details taken. was told would be seen by Nurse practitioner as i needed an x-ray.After more than afurther i queried my wait at reception, then another HCA changed the 1 hour waiting time notice to 2 hours.Patienrs came and went .i asked again when i might be seen and was told there are 3 patients in front of me.I sat down and waited,i went upto desk and was told i had waited more than 2 hours there were 3 poeple in front of me and they changed the wait notice to 2.5 hours and could not say whether i would be seen or not as they had an emergency.i felt somewhat unwel and distressed and had to return home.

what appalling management,i hope the receptionist gets seen on time in the pain clinic, obviously busy with personal calls.

I am very sorry to hear about your experience at the Cumberland MIU and apologise for the distress you experienced. We generally get really positive feedback about the MIU so we very much want to look into what went wrong for you. Please could you contact me with your name, date of birth and date of visit (I am assuming it was 2nd July?) and then the Matron will look into the issues that you raise.

With Thanks
